With school-age children suddenly at home all the time, childcare facilities are closing and leaving front-line essential workers looking desperately for childcare. Here, we outline specific problems related to childcare, policies currently in place to help mitigate them, and highlight areas that are still lacking.

Childcare facilities are struggling to stay open - attendance declined almost 70% in a single week amid the pandemic now that most parents are caring for their kids at home.

More than 60% of childcare facilities say they could stay afloat for no longer than a month without government aid.

Childcare facility closures are limiting options for front-line medical workers who need these services most.
